Art has always been my main passion. I have a lot of love and respect for animals and wildlife. For as long as I can remember I have been drawn towards creating portraits of people, pets and wildlife.
I have a background in illustration; specialising in drawing and painting. Since 2007, I have been an art teacher in North West England. My current preferred media is pastel or gouache paint. I endeavour to capture expression through the use of striking colour.
I feel honoured that family members and friends still have some of these portraits framed and displayed in their houses since I created them as a child.
Throughout the first Lockdown of 2020 I felt compelled to produce more of my own artwork. I found inspiration from a photograph of my daughter; which portrayed her personality beautifully. During those times of uncertainty and worry, her infectious smile, innocent nature and sweetness just lifted me. My intention was to capture her joy and to create a royal, vintage appearance, to match her expression.
